Event website using Ubercart, node_profile and uc_node_checkout

Thu, 2010-03-11 06:04

Just live, a new event website build with Drupal. This website was created for a business conference in June 2010.

The website is using the following setup:

  • Drupal 6
  • Ubercart module (so we can have a webshop)
  • Content Profile (to enable participants of the event to create a profile)
  • Node checkout to link the profile with the webshop. Participants buy their profile. It is their ticket
  • Many other modules were used, but this is the basic setup.

The theme used is a modified version of Simply Modern.

A clean style photography Drupal site

Thu, 2010-03-11 03:32

Photographers do not usually use Drupal for their showcase website. Preferable choices would be a blogging software or flash.

We have convinced Noogen Photography to select Drupal over other choices for future advanced features such as photo selling or community involvement. It has a very clean style, very few decoration to lighten up the photo themselves. Views Galleriffic module (http://drupal.org/project/views_galleriffic) is used to nicely display photos with thumbnails.

The website is here: http://noogenphotography.com

Your comments are really appreciated.

My second try at drupal on a site to showcase my friends airbrushing.

Thu, 2010-03-11 00:27

Hello all I help my friend put together a site to showcase his airbrushing and allow him try and get the word out in the area that he lives in that he is there and available to do custom airbrushing on cars and motorcycles. We used the Contrast theme and web form for the contact page along with galleries and light boxes modules for the galleries. It is kind of simple looking, compared to some of the others I have seen showcased, so I would be interested in hearing any feed back that could help use make the site better. Thanks in advance.

Quality International - Drupal Website, with Timesheet Management Backend

Wed, 2010-03-10 11:45

We have just finished off a brochure website for Quality International UK using Drupal 6. Much of the content is based and built with power and flexibility of CCK, Views and Panels.

The client wants the website to become a portal for their site over time, to kick off we have integrated RSS feeds on the front page based around the automotive industry using the Feeds module.

And finally, we built a bespoke Time Management System for their clients and quality engineers; we will look at releasing this as a module in the future. Basically, it allows engineers to upload their timesheets, and record the results of their days work, whilst the client can see this information by job, job no, date range and also by graphs.

Love to hear what you think, the website is http:/www.qualityinternational.co.uk.

Our first Drupal as CMS catalog with Flash Front End - AMFPHP style

Tue, 2010-03-09 18:16

This was a long hard learning curve.

http://lab.think-a-doo.net/CMS/PENS -- back end
http://lab.think-a-doo.net/RIACatalog/Main.html -- front end

We wrote the whole front-end in pure AS3 and connect to Drupal 6.15 through the new AMFPHP 1.9 server.

Looking at the performance, it was well worth the effort.

Drupal can change everything you see on the screen, the Backgrounds, the Product info and images, the Logo associated with the product. Taxonomy is used to create the category menus too.

The whole site is maintained by Drupal.

The application is designed to run in browser full screen mode.
EDIT: I am currently preparing the AIR application pending our investigation into 960.gs and BluePrint. If 960.gs or BluePrint can offer the same layout control we would like to keep Drupal for the browser, AS3 version (which made the current front end) for AIR and Drupal for the cell Phone (although that is not an original design requirement)

www.memorshop.com : Drupal based webshop using Ubercart, Acquia Prosper theme, and some more ..

Tue, 2010-03-09 12:10

I created a webshop selling flashcards, mainly in Europe: www.memorshop.com

Theme:
Acquia Prosper, a very developer friendly theme supporting the Skinr module

Modules:
I used following modules (besides the core ones):

Panels, Chaos Tools, Views, CCK: These modules are so good. I consider them core

Administration Menu: The biggest timesaver in Drupal I know of
IMCE, Wysiwig and IMCE Wysiwig API Bridge: Nice module combo for uploading images in While in Wysiwig editor

Ubercart: Great webshop functionality on top of drupal
Paypal, Bank Transfer: Payment modules supported
Ajax Driven Cart: Nice module that keeps customers on the shopping page when they add something to their cart
Taxonomy Treemenu: Used to replace the Ubercart Catalog module because it provides more freedom.

Private Self-catering Holiday Rental Accommodation site

Mon, 2010-03-08 16:45

Easy Holiday Rentals have an innovative web site that allows home owners to advertise their private homes for rental. The simplicity of the site gives it a competitive advantage over similar offerings around the world.

The website is a listing of private properties. Home owners can register on the site and enter the details of their property, adding images, description and much more. Listings are available FREE at the moment – but there will in the future be a nominal charge to advertise on the site. To feature a property at the top of the listings will also in the future incur a charge.

Easy Holiday Rentals are confident that they can provide a valuable service to homeowners that wish to rent their properties – as well as giving site visitors that prefer not to pay for hotel accommodation an economical alternative.

Visitors to the site can view the listings and if they find a property of interest they contact the property owner directly. Easy Holiday Rentals acts merely as a go-between, bringing home owners and potential home renters – together.

The site was developed by 'Navega Bem', a highly reputable web design and development company based on Madeira island, Portugal.

Work [at] Play Re-design on Drupal

Mon, 2010-03-08 01:15

We eat our own dogfood.

About 3 weeks ago we were happy to launch our new corporate website with Drupal under the hood. Please check it out at: http://www.workatplay.com

There is heavy use of Jquery Tools on the site and naturally CCK and Views make everything very straightforward. It's been great to see our SEO jump through the roof after moving to the Drupal deployment (Clean URLs, Pathauto, XMLSitemap, PageTitle and Page Redirects all make this so easy). There is also some really cool twitter-integration stuff we will be launching shortly.

Would love any suggestions, digital high-fives, feedback or constructive criticism.

Cheers.

Music / Entertainment site

Sat, 2010-03-06 01:20

I was just messing around and built this site for a gangsta rapper lol. It's kinda heavy, but has some nice features using ubercart, panels, tinyurl, twitter api, video modules, flash....and stuff....Unfortunately this time around I didn't get to dig in too deep with SWFObject for the music samples, but I'm fully ready with my js knowledge and flash for the next round. When we first launched the site there were 100's of people browsing the site at once and I had the cache disabled so it crashed my entire server due to maxing mysql connections. I've learned alot this round.

I'm working on my music store 2.0. It's going to be super awesome, now that I know my way around the corner. ;)

Flash, Flex, AIR integration to Drupal through AMFPHP

Fri, 2010-03-05 16:35

A presentation of Flash, Flex, AIR integration to Drupal through AMFPHP

If you have ever wondered about Drupal, Flash, AIR and Flex integration, here is a screen cast of my presentation at 3d Jozi Drupal meetup 2010. I presented a number of scenarios:

1. Flash content in Drupal
2. Flash content in Drupal with Drupal Services and AMFPHP integration.
3. Flash front-ends to Drupal with Drupal Services and AMFPHP integration.

Held at The Campus (Le Mans Building 57 Sloane Street Bryanston 18h30 on Wednesday the 3rd March).

Command Systems - technology manufacturer and developer's site

Thu, 2010-03-04 00:28

http://www.commandsystems.com.au/

Used all kinds of modules on this one. On the homepage we have a DDBLOCK from a custom CCK banner content type, which means changing the homepage rotating banner is really easy, but it was a devil to set up properly. Once we 'got it', however, its easy.

The theme is a heavily customised one based on an Acquia Marina, but you probably couldn't tell!. It has lots of custom areas which are not visible yet... but the evolution of the site will make lots of use of them. Panel has helped to make the site behave more inline with the client's expectations.

There's also a Korean language version of the site in the works, ready soon.

They now have full responsbility for the site, so who knows where it will go from here.

Thanks for looking!

PakSpire.com - A video sharing blog

Wed, 2010-03-03 21:06

Hello everyone,

I have just accomplished what I thought was impossible with Drupal, and that is a video sharing website:
Pakspire.com.

the video sharing feature is handled entirely by "Embedded Media Field" module. The best thing about this module is that users don't have to upload entire videos to my site, hence there is no effect on disk and bandwidth usage on my hosting account.

I also plan to add image sharing feature.

This site is still in basic form so I thought taking feedback from Drupal community may benefit me in further development of this site.

ClassyAngel.com - Vancouver Based Courtesan - From static to Drupal, I'll never look back.

Wed, 2010-03-03 19:32

Hello Everyone!

I'm a Vancouver, BC based courtesan and some time ago I decided my current site looked great but needed to be easier to update and manage. After some research into a number of options I decided to go with Drupal because it was free (yay!), had a huge number of modules available that would really benefit my site and because the community appeared to be really helpful, assuming you wanted to help yourself.

You can view the current product at http://www.ClassyAngel.com - Before going you should make sure you have an open mind as I'm showcasing suggestive lingerie shots, of course you should also be 18 to visit.

So, what is running the site?

Drupal 6.x - The most recent stable release

Common modules that don't really need explaining,
Admin Menu
Pathauto
Google Analytics
XML Sitemap
Nodewords

Others,

CCK/Views - Used for a number of things including my Duo Partner pages (http://www.classyangel.com/duo-partners). The main page is a view of a custom content type, those then have CCK fields for height/weight/hair and of course the images which are then standardized by ImageCache.

ThemeKey - I have a number of different themes setup for different areas of the site, some have subtle changes and others are completely different.

Album Photos - Used for my galleries (http://www.classyangel.com/node/232/photos/view/flash)
